Effects of resistance training on balance-related physical performance in older adults with sarcopenic obesity: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials examined how resistance training affects balance and physical performance in older adults with sarcopenic obesity. The findings support resistance training as an effective intervention for improving balance-related outcomes in this population, which faces compounded risks from both muscle loss and excess adiposity. These results have direct clinical implications for physical therapists designing exercise programs for aging patients with sarcopenic obesity.
